The Qube comes from the concept that lamps don't necessairly need to look like lamps. It's simply a red cube with a cable, that with a gentle push becomes a table lamp, lighting up as it opens. Aluminium strips were used instead of the usual wires for conducting electricity and the presence of a transformer at the base allows users to touch the strips without receiving an electric shock.
